VCG OPERATING PLAN
2006 - 2007
Primary
Objective
To promote community health and wellbeing through the provision
of help and support to those in need in the local community, complementing
statutory services and those available from other providers.
Transport
We will continue development of an integrated transport system
for those unable to use public transport, through our volunteer
car drivers, minibus shopping services and excursions, with our
fleet recently supplemented by our new Eurobus people carrier.
Neighbourhood
Care Scheme
We will relaunch a rejuvenated Neighbourhood Care Scheme with
a new Co-ordinator,
providing help, support and befriending wherever we identify the
need.
The
Greenwood Centre
We will continue to provide an affordable venue for local groups
involved in health, education, support and social exclusion -
as well as a facility for recreational and social gatherings.
Links
to Others
We will improve our database of services available from other
providers and refer clients to them as appropriate.
Volunteers
and Employees
They will hold exactly the same status and be given the opportunity
to acquire new skills and enhance existing ones.
Training
All staff will be given a general induction course as well as
being given job-specific training.
Communications
We will continue to develop our internal and external communications
programmes in a variety of media, as well as staging and participating
in community events
