About the Centre

The Greenwood Centre is the home of The Hampton & Hampton Hill Voluntary Care Group (VCG) which was started by local people in 1974 to be a good neighbour to residents of our area who may suffer social isolation through infirmity, poor mobility or any other reason.

After more than 30 years we continue the aim of our founders in providing help and support to those in need, complementing statutory services and those available from other providers who we work closely with.

We have been in The Greenwood Centre since 1992 in fine modern premises which are the base for all of our activities and the venue for many other activities which complement the health and well being of the community.

Our Aims

Our founders' objectives were to attack deprivation and social isolation wherever they occurred in Hampton & Hampton Hill and to encourage neighbourliness and self-help.

To quote VCG Director, Fiona Brennan:

"In over 30 years of service to the Hamptons, the Group, while moving with the times, holds fast to its core function - promoting health and wellbeing throughout the Hamptons."
